Kari was born and raised in Wainwright. She attended Mount Royal College in 1992-1994 to complete her Diploma in Recreation Therapy. Kari moved back to Wainwright working as a Teacher Assistant at the Wainwright Elementary School and Rehab Aid @ Catholic Social Services. Kari eventually worked full- time with CSS as the Children’s Program Coordinator. In that time Kari and her husband Trent had 2 children Cole in 1998 and Jayden 4 years later. Kari has been with the PLC since the beginning in 2005, and has made this her career of choice. Kari wholeheartedly supports families as their child’s first and foremost important teacher, and values the services and support that Parent Links can provide to families as a place to come to play, learn and connect with their children. Over the years Kari has had many opportunities for professional development including Triple P facilitation, Infant Massage, Kids Have Stress Too and many more.
Kari likes to spend her time outside of work on her acreage with her family, gardening, riding horses, going for walks, and visiting her neighbours- who happen to be her mom and dad. In the summertime Kari & Her family can be found spending time at her sisters cabin at Turtle Lake and in the Winter you are most likely to run into Kari at a Hockey rink somewhere in Alberta as both her children Play the wonderful sport we call Hockey!
Two statements that resonate with Kari and her passion for the Early Years are:
“The First 5 years impact the rest of their lives”
“Early Intervention is Crime Prevention”
Thank you for visiting at PLC and investing in our future citizens….your children!
Hello! My name is Lindsay Yallits-Ezinga. I was born and raised in Vancouver B.C. and moved to Wainwright in 2007. My husband Joel and I have two children, Lars (11) and Nova (9) along with our three bunnies, Lucky, Sundae and SarawithnoH, and our cat Kitkat.
I initially went to school for and worked in the pharmaceutical world but after having children, volunteering with kids and coaching soccer I knew I wanted to work in early childhood development and spend my time learning from little ones. While my children were younger we spent many mornings at the Parent Link where my children and I made some amazing friends, learned about our community, gained valuable knowledge and had so much fun!
My hobbies include playing music, I play piano, ukulele, bass, accordion and drums. I also love running and making up new recipes with my kids. I enjoy volunteering in the community and continue to coach soccer every spring.

Rhiannon was born and raised in Wainwright, where she currently lives with her dog Jack. After graduating from Lakeland College in 2012 with a Diploma in Early Learning & Child Care, Rhiannon set off to Australia where she stayed for 6 months to Au pair for a family in Darwin. Rhiannon has quite the travel bug and is (usually) never at home for very long. Some of Rhiannon’s favorite places include Europe, South Africa, and her favorite being her mother’s childhood home Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland. Rhiannon has been at Parent Link since 2016, and has already learned so many incredible things about the Early Years - Rhiannon believes whole-heartedly that the first five years of life are the most important to a child’s development.
“Change the First Five Years and You Change Everything.”
Heather has lived in Wainwright all her life and met her husband Elliott in 2005. Heather and Elliott are very busy with their 3 children, Abigail, Addison and Kade who enjoy many activities like dance, hockey and horse riding. In the summer they love to go camping, golfing and swimming.
Heather has been with Parent Link since 2015. Prior to her working with PLC, she attended many of our programs as a parent. “I love to meet new moms and have fun with my kids. Parent Link is a great support for families” says Heather. “All their activities encourage parent interaction and gets them playing with their children, my kids love coming to PLC”. “And now I am excited to be a Parent Link staff member”, says Heather. She runs programming in the village of Irma every Tuesday morning at the Irma United Church and Thursday morning at the Edgerton Public School.
Heather has completed many Triple P facilitating training courses and offers these to families who may need a few more tools in their “backpack” of parenting. As well as Triple P, Heather has also completed Books for Babies and Rhymes that Bind facilitation training.
Heather is very dedicated to her work and works hard at learning new things. The early years are a very important to development and we are excited to have her as part of our team.
I’ve lived in Wainwright most of my life. I have 4 daughters, born in 1995, 1998, 2003, and 2011. (you get to do the math)☺ Our family also has fur babies, 3 dogs and 1 cat.
I started with Parent Link in 2008. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to train and work in all parts of PLC, from leading playgroups in Irma, Chauvin & Edgerton, to hosting great parenting programs like: Triple P, Kids Have Stress Too, Emotion Coaching, Yoga & Infant Massage.
I’m so thankful for PLC and that I get to do what I am passionate about, supporting families in the early years to raise happy, healthy children.
“The potential possibilities of any child, are the most intriguing and stimulating in all of creation.”
