Triple P Seminar Sessions

Positive Parenting Program

Parents and caregivers have different needs when it comes to parenting help. Some may just want a tip or two to make sure their child goes quietly to bed at night – and stays there. Some may need a simple plan to stop tantrums at the shopping mall. But others could be facing more serious trouble and need in-depth help to get them through.

That's why Triple P has many different ways to get help. You choose what is best for you and your family. It's about giving you the right amount of help you need – enough, but not too much!

Short sessions with other parents

Wainwright and District Parent Link Centre offers the Seminars listed below. Check out our Events Calendar to see when the sessions are being held.

Most of the time, parenting is fun. You know you are doing a good job. But there are times when things get a little tricky. Like when your toddler won't eat her dinner. Or your six year old won't pick up his toys. If only someone could give you some ideas to make those times easier! If this sounds like you, then a Triple P seminar may be right for you.

What is a Seminar?

Triple P Seminars are for large groups of parents – possibly 20 or more. It's an informal presentation, a little like a public forum. There are three seminars in the Triple P series: The Power of Positive Parenting; Raising Confident, Competent Children; and Raising Resilient Children. You can choose to do one, two or all three seminars. They deal with the most common parenting issues we all face.

How long will it take?

The seminars last around 90 minutes. There is time at the end for your questions, but you won't have to speak up if you don't want to. It's your choice. There's no homework and no follow up. It is designed to be a brief introduction to the Triple P strategies. But you will definitely get some great ideas to take home and try out with your family!

Raising Confident Competent Children

Parenting is rewarding but can also be exhausting. This is a seminar for parents to encourage more confident and competent children using the six building blocks of success.

Raising Resilient Children

All children experience times of stress in their lives and need the emotional skills to deal with it. Children’s emotional resilience, or ability to cope with their feelings, is important to their long term happiness, well-being and success in life. This morning will provide you with some ideas on how to help your children recognize and accept their feelings, express them appropriately, have a positive outlook, develop effective ways to cope, deal with and manage their feelings.
